Woman killed after falling out of electric road vehicle

REDINGTON BEACH, Fla. - A woman was killed when she fell out of an electric vehicle just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

According to Pinellas County Sheriff deputies Patricia and Larry Taylor, both 68, were riding together in a 2002 Gem electric road vehicle along Gulf Boulevard.

As Larry went to make a left turn onto 162nd Avenue his wife, Patricia, fell from the vehicle. She sustained fatal injuries to her head and died at the scene.

Deputies say Patricia was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The accident shutdown Gulf Boulevard, both north and south bound lanes, until 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Law enforcement are investigating to see if alcohol was an influence in the crash.
