Pinellas Park man arrested on 11 counts of possession of child pornography

PINELLAS PARK, Fla - A two month undercover investigation by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office resulted in a Pinellas Park man being arrested on 11 counts of possession of child pornography.

Aaron Ray Barnhart, 22, of 6004 109th Avenue North, Pinellas Park, is now facing 11 counts of possession of child pornography and one count promotion of child pornography.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit say Barnhart admitted to downloading and sharing the child pornography via his computer.

Through their investigation, detectives say the y were able to identify a potential suspect that was sharing child pornography videos via the Internet.  Detectives obtained a search warrant which was served at Barnhart's residence on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Downloaded material that was found while serving the search warrant is currently under review and additional charges are pending, according to investigators.

Barnhart was interviewed by detectives and admitted to the allegations, according to an arrest report.
