ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Approximately 25,000 Progress Energy customers in Pinellas County were hit with a power outage Saturday.
Progress Energy reported that they had outages all the way from 4th Street to Tyrone Boulevard.
Emergency officials say traffic accident at 38th Avenue N. and 62nd Street N. involved a vehicle hitting a power pole, causing the lights to go out in a large portion of St. Petersburg.
According to a Progress Energy spokesperson, power has been restored to about half of the affected customers, and crews are working to restore power to the rest.
All power was restored to those affected by 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
