Pinellas County deputies arrested for cooking meth in car near beach

St. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A man is in jail after Pinellas County deputies caught him cooking up something illegal in the parking lot at Gandy Beach late Saturday.

Charles Tapp was parked in his silver Chevy Silverado when deputies approached him.

As deputies got closer to the car they saw needles inside and Tapp allegedly bagging an item in the backseat.

Narcotics officers were called out to the scene as deputies suspected Tapp was cooking methamphetamine out of the back of the car.

He was arrested for possession of meth, and other drug related charges.

Later while being interviewed by officials Tapp confessed to making meth out of his car. He is currently in Pinellas County Jail.
