People step up help girl who needs help to get a Guardian Angel service dog

6y/o just wants to be a kid and service dog is key

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - Samantha Feeley is just 6 years old and she needs a service dog to lead any kind of normal life.

Since the age of 6 months old, Samantha has had severe allergies to things like dairy and nuts.

It is so bad, she could die if she comes into contact with either.

So, Samatha needs a service dog to alert her to the dangers of those allergens.  But, the dog cost $20,000.

Last week, ABC Action News told you that little Sam's mother is trying to raise awareness.

Because of that story, people have started to donate.  Some people are really going out of their way.

Susanne Oeren operates the web-based company 'Kinderland Dolls.' ( www.kinderlanddolls.net ) .

Susanne has set up a spot on her website where 100% of the sales from her Plush Animals will go straight to Samantha.

"If all she needs is a service dog," Susanne explained, "let's try to work together and get her one."

Constance Hilton also felt she had to help and contacted some of her musician friends in the Bay Area.

On August 25th, several bands will be play a benefit concert called "Angels for Samantha" on Treasure Island.

It will take place at  CJ's from 1p.m. to 9p.m.  It will also include a silent auction, raffles and vendors.  All of the proceeds will go to little Sammy.

"I'm a mom too," Constance sympathized, "so for Samantha not being able to go out and play... that was just wow."

Samantha's mother, Allison, has been wowed by what has happened in just a week.

"People I don't even know are calling me, emailing me, messaging me on Facebook... wanting to help her.  It's just incredible. Lot's of tears."

But they are still very short of their goal. Right now, they have raised just over $2,300.

I asked Sam to cover her eyes and make one wish.

Her wish? "Angel," she told me. "That's all I ever wish for."
