A pedestrian was killed Thursday while trying to cross Park Boulevard in Pinellas Park, police said.
The man, whose name was not released Thursday, was struck about 8:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of the boulevard, according to Pinellas Park Police Department.
The pedestrian was trying to cross from north to south across the westbound lanes of the boulevard during heavy traffic, police said.
He then entered the eastbound lanes, crossed the median and then center lanes, police said. While walking south on Park Boulevard, he was struck in the curb lane by a red Ford pickup truck.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
