PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Detectives have ended a search for a wanted man in a string of car thefts that spanned along U.S. 19.
Pinellas County Sheriff detectives identified Jeffrey Mathis, 34, as the prime suspect who had allegedly been breaking into cars throughout Pinellas and Pasco county neighborhoods, stealing credit cards and identification.
Mathis was found in the Palm Harbor area Friday night and taken into deputy custody.
Deputies found several stolen Driver's Licenses, credit cards, gift cards and a blank check in Mathis' possession.
He faces charegs of grand theft auto, possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics, resisting an officer without violence and burglary.
