EGMONT KEY, Fla. - The Coast Guard said early Monday that they suspended the search near Egmont Key for a boater who went missing early Sunday morning.
Officers with Florida Fish and Wildlife, who were helping the Coast Guard, have not said if they will continue to search, or if they will also suspend operations.
According to officials, four men went out on a 21-foot vessel Saturday night. For unknown reasons, their boat started to sink.
A Good Samaritan also boating in the area found three of the men clinging to a cooler and buoy.
A fourth man, Enrique Rodriguez, has not been located.
He is believed to be wearing a life vest.
The search Sunday took place eight miles off of the key near Fort DeSoto.
