A missing swimmer found off the coast of Pinellas County on Tuesday afternoon has died, authorities said.
The man was found at the southernmost point of Three Rooker Island, authorities said. Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officers pulled him onto their boat and began CPR.
He was taken to a waiting ambulance near Tarpon Springs and rushed to a hospital.
He was later pronounced dead.
A second person on the boat with the swimmer went to a hospital and is in good condition.
The search began about 2 p.m. after the Coast Guard received a report that a man jumped into the water near Three Rooker Island and never resurfaced.
