Brakes fail causing 7 car involved crash on Belcher Road

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Multiple people were taken to Pinellas hospitals Saturday afternoon after a seven car involved crash.

According to Pinellas Park police Katherine Langston, 30, was driving a Cadillac Fleetwood approaching the intersection of Park Boulevard and Belcher Road.

She started to press the brake to come to a stop for the red light, but realized the brakes weren't working.

The Cadillac side swiped a Ford Escape that was in the center lane and continued on to hit five other cars. The faulty car came to a final resting spot when it flipped on it's side after hitting a Nissan.

A mother and her two, two year old children were taken to All Children's Hospital, as well as a five month old baby.

Several others were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. All have since been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
