Body discovered in Tarpon Springs is that of missing Citrus County man

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - Pasco County detectives say a body found Friday in Tarpon Springs is that of a man missing from Citrus County.

Fingerprint analysis identified the man as Billy Shuler.  His body was found in a wooded area south of B21 Liquors in Tarpon Springs.

Shuler left his home around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, to meet with Anthony Maresca, in Holiday, possibly for a transaction on collectible coins.  His wife reported him missing May 22.

Shuler's truck was found outside a storage facility at 5334 Provost Drive in Holiday, with evidence that suggested foul play.

Detectives are still searching for Maresca, 51, to question him about the disappearance of Shuler.

Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Maresca or this case is asked to call Tampa Bay Crimestoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS. You can also leave a tip via our phone app, or via our website at PascoSheriff.us .
