ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - Police are investigating a possible threat of violence at Zephyrhills High School.
On Wednesday, investigators received information about a threat of a planned shooting.
Three students were investigated and were told to stay home, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
According to a police statement, "The rumor of this threat has been social media driven, causing widespread concern."
At last word, there was no evidence to substantiate the threat.
In the meantime, police are taking extra precautionary steps to ensure the safety of students at the school.
Criminal charges are possible, according to the police statement.
