Pasco County Sheriff's Office release names of skydivers who died on Saturday

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - Pasco County Sheriff deputies released the names of two skydivers who died during a jump at Skydive City in Zephyrhills Saturday.

They were identified as Andrimar Pordarson, 25, and Orvar Arnarson, 40, both from Iceland.

According to TK Hayes, manager of Skydive City, a group of about 22 Icelandic skydivers were doing a jump around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.  Arnarson, an experienced instructor and Pordarson, a student, jumped from the plane, but did not land with the other jumpers.

Skydive City employees began a search for the divers using their own plane, but could not spot the two men. They called Zephyrhills police who started to assist in the search.

Around 3:30 p.m. Zephyrhills police called the Pasco County Sheriff's Office to further expand the rescue efforts.

Deputies launched their helicopter as well as several ground units. Other law enforcement offices were called in to assist in the search.

Crews searching by air eventually located the two men. They were found near each other in a wooded area south of Zephyrhills Municipal Airport near Yonkers Road.
