Darren Lawlor says surveillance video shows two men breaking into his car and stealing his laptop within 30 seconds.

Lawlor wasn't alone. Twenty vehicles were hit Saturday night in Wesley Chapel. Cameras show the thieves in progress.

Six cars were burglarized on Sky Lane Circle in the Lakes of Northwood subdivision. Fourteen more were hit in the Seven Oaks community.

Video from multiple locations along the burglars’ route captured at least five different suspects.
Investigators say they simply walked the neighborhood checking for unlocked doors.

Lawlor says he forgot to lock his door but says he normally doesn't leave anything in it anyways.

"I got home late, I was in a rush, didn't grab my book bag. I normally do,” Lawlor said.

Investigators dusted for fingerprints but one of the camera's shows at least one suspect wearing gloves.

They now believe the images from neighbors’ surveillance cameras are their best chance at an arrest.

Investigators say everyone forgets to lock up every once in a while and thieves make a living on it.

"I don't keep anything of value in there for this exact reason, so it just happened to be that one night," Lawlor said.
