Volunteers are being sought to help rid trash and debris from coastal waterways and Pasco County streets.

The annual International Coastal Cleanup will be held from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Last year, 1,190 volunteers picked up 21.89 tons of trash during the event.

Several sites are included in the clean up, including Anclote Gulf Park, Strauber Memorial Highway, The City of New Port Richey, Hudson Beach, the City of Dade City, Land O'Lakes, Wesley Chapel and Crystal Springs.

Trash bags and water will be provided to volunteers. T-shirts will be handed out while supplies last.
