The search is underway for two men who investigators say were involved in a shooting at the home of a Zephyrhills police officer.

Bullets hit his police cruiser and his house.

“I heard the shots and hauled a** into the house,” said neighbor Tina Elliot.

Elliot was walking her dog, Little Bit, around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

“She doesn’t like loud nosies. Thunder, lighting,” she said.

That’s when someone starting firing at her neighbor's home.

That neighbor happens to be a Zephyrhills Police Officer.

“Heck she practically dragged me to the door,” she said.

Police say two men walked onto the officers property and shot at his cruiser parked in the driveway.

And they also fired at the home with the officer and his family inside.

No one was injured.

But the Pasco Sheriff’s Office says they are treating this crime scene like a murder case, even bringing in the forensics team.

They say don’t know if the officer was specifically targeted.

“An attack on one officer is an attack on everyone in law enforcement. To target a member of the law enforcement community like this is very brazen,” said Pasco Sheriff’s Office Lt. Luby Fields.

“If they are going to shoot at cops, they will shoot at anybody. It’s crazy,” said Elliot.

Investigators are asking anyone in the area of 9th street and 14th avenue in Zephyrhills who may have seen something suspicious or have security cameras to get in touch with the Sheriff’s Office at 1-800-706-2488.

“I’m just glad the bullets didn’t come this way,” said Elliot.

Investigators say it appears the men also went through the cruiser, but they haven’t said if anything is missing.
