HUDSON, Fla. - A fast-moving brush fire closed a portion of U.S. 19 in Hudson on Friday.
Just before 6 p.m., Pasco County firefighters reported the blaze had reached 75 acres.
Flames broke out about 3 p.m. in a wood area near U.S. 19 and Sunnydale Drive.
Southbound U.S. 19 at Sea Pines was shut down due to heavy smoke.
Gulfway between Sea Pines and Old Dixie Highway was also shut down.
The roads were reopened shortly after 6 p.m. The fire was reported under control shortly before 6:30 p.m.
According to Pasco Fire Rescue, there were no reports of injuries and no reports of endangered homes.
