MDConnect ME connects doctors, patients and families

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - Have you ever had a family member who was having surgery and you worried about how they were doing? You no doubt  wondered if they were out of surgery and how the procedure went.

Well now there's new technology being used by some bay area doctors that keeps doctors, patients and families connected.

It's called MDConnect ME.   Here's how it works: The doctor sends an invite to the patient.  The patient signs up for the mobile application and sends  a list of family and friends to be notified. This allows a surgeon or other staff members to send immediate alerts updating the patients' procedure, condition and recovery.

The notifications can reach Grandma in another state or a best friend overseas.

MDConnect ME is free for patients.

Locally, Dr Raj Ambay of the Tampa Institute of Plastic Surgery of Wesley Chapel uses MDConnect ME and his patients have found that it gives them some peace of mind knowing that family members will be kept update date on how they are doing.
