A 17-month-old boy was pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool by his mother at a home in Hudson Tuesday.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to a call from the home on Pinto Drive shortly after 9 a.m.
The mother had revived the child by performing CPR.
According to a sheriff's statement, the boy was playing with siblings in a bedroom when the mother briefly left the room.
Moments later, she noticed a sliding door, which is normally closed and locked, was open.
She then found the boy at the bottom of the pool. She jumped in and pulled him out.
The child was showing good vital signs when paramedics arrived. But he was flown by helicopter to a local hospital as a precaution.
The investigation is ongoing.
