Investigators make arrest in car crash killing of Hudson triplet

HUDSON, Fla. - Highway Patrol Investigators arrested Betty Jo Tagerson, 39, of Hudson, for Vehicular Homicide in the death of five year old Delaney Rossman. Rossman was killed after Tagerson's car ran into a group of girls playing in their front yard.

In early November, the Rossman triplets were playing at a friend's house in the front yard, when police say Tagerson, a neighbor, pulled away from her home, speeding.

Investigators say Tagerson lost control, hit a parked car, and collided with four children aged five to nine years, before she was ejected from the vehicle.

Rossman, seriously injured, was taken to St. Joseph's All Children's Hospital where she later expired from her injuries.

Tagerson lives just down the street from where the Rossman family lived. Since the accident, the Rossmans have moved out of their home.

In addition to the homicide, Tagerson was charged with Reckless Driving involving Serious Bodily Injury, Reckless Driving involving Property Damage, and she was issued infractions for no insurance, defective equipment and not wearing a seatbelt.

Tagerson was taken to the Pasco County Jail and issued a bond of $20,000.
