Deputies are asking for help to track down a homeless armed felon who shot a woman.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says 44-year-old Michael Putnam got into a fight with a woman Tuesday afternoon in Hudson. Authorities say he pointed a small gun at the woman and shot her in the arm.

The woman got away from Putnam and walked to a nearby Dollar General store at the corner of Ogalala Street and Altoona Avenue. She told clerks to call 911 because she had been shot.

Dispatchers received the 911 call at 1:23 p.m. Deputies closed roads near the Dollar General store while they searched for Putnam, but they could not find him.

Putnam is wanted for Attempted Homicide and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

If you know where Putnam is, deputies ask you immediately call 911.

Tips can also be sent to Tampa Bay Crime Stoppers by calling at (800) 873-TIPS or at www.p3tips.com/TipForm.aspx?ID=155&P3ID=155&DSID=155. You could be eligible to receive a $3,000 reward.

According to Sheriff's Office records, Putnam was previously arrested in Pasco County for Resisting an Officer, Fleeing to Elude Police, Driving with License Suspended or Revoked, and for Fugitive warrants out of Michigan and Georgia.
