HOLIDAY, Fla. - Tuesday night the Pasco County Sheriff's Office arrested the son for the murder of his father.
Firefighters found the body of Rene' Dominique Vercruysse inside his Hudson home on New Year's Eve.
On New Year's Eve Pasco Fire Rescue responded to the call of a house fire on Mosaic Drive in Hudson. After putting out the fire, which was contained to the bedroom, firefighters discovered the body of Rene' Dominique Vercruysse inside the home.
The medical examiner conducted a preliminary autopsy on Tuesday and determined Rene' died due to homicidal violence.
Detectives received information that a dispute arose between 23-year-old Baron Von Duke Vercruysse and his 52-year-old father on New Year's Eve sometime before the fire. Authorities say Baron killed his father in a method they are still investigating.
Deputies began searching for Baron on Tuesday and located him in the Holiday Lakes Estates area. He was arrested and charged with first degree murder and first degree arson.
Baron is being held without bond on the murder charge and $150,000 bond on the arson charge. He is scheduled to make a first court appearance at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
