Flood Warning issued July 29 at 9:42AM EDT expiring July 30 at 2:00PM EDT in effect for: Pasco
HOLIDAY, Fla. - The Pasco County Sheriff's Office released four 911 calls Monday made during the shooting at the West Coast Spine and Injury Center in Holiday.
The first 911 call is from Dr. Lenny Linardos himself. He tells dispatchers he just received a threatening phone call.
"Well I just got a threatening call and I know who it was that just made the call," he tells the operator.
The next time dispatch hears from the office on U.S. 19 is after gunshots rang out.
"Was there someone shot inside?" the dispatcher asks a caller.
"Yes, the guy came in with a gun and we took him down," he response.
"Ok. Did he shoot someone?"
"Yeah, no," the caller says. "The chiropractor shot him."
The callers included some patients who were inside the office when the shooting took place. From the phone calls, you can tell it's chaotic. Screams can be heard as they try to explain to 911 dispatchers that Linardos shot Jamie Velez, who came to the chiropractor's office armed with a gun.
"It's the doctor that shot him. This guy came here with a gun. This guy came here with a gun and the doctor defended himself," one caller says.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Velez told deputies that he received an antagonizing message from Linardos about an affair with his girlfriend just before he drove to the medical office.
One of the phone calls to 911 is from a woman who identifies herself as Velez's girlfriend, Stacy.
"Oh, please somebody. God help me. Somebody just shot my boyfriend," she says.
A hospital official confirmed Monday that Velez was still in the hospital in stable condition.
Linardos has not been charged in the shooting. Deputies said he acted in self-defense.
