WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - A Wesley Chapel High School freshman was arrested Friday and charged with filing a false police report, according to a sheriff's statement. Deputies went to the school after a female student said she had been injured in an assault. The injury was described as superficial and not life threatening. The school and and two other schools were placed on lockdown around 12:20 p.m. The lockdown was lifted around 1:50 p.m. after it was determined there was no credible threat to the students. Investigators determined that statements made by the female student were inconsistent and suspicious. She later admitted she made up the story, according to the sheriff's statement. She was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing. She also faces three counts of disrupting a school function. All of the charges are misdemeanors.
