Why did the alligator go through the furniture store? To get to the lake behind it.

That's exactly what happened at American Freight Furniture in Holiday when a gator was spotted in the parking lot under a car that ironically had a Florida Gators sticker on it.

Workers at the store called the Pasco County Sheriff's Office who responded to transfer the gator to the lake behind the store.

American Freight employee Peter Soto caught the whole incident on video and when asked about his day at work he said, "it was a wonderful day at American Freight." When we asked him what it was like to have a gator in the store, he said "gators are welcome!"

In order to get the reptile to the lake, deputies decided to drag it through the store because the path around the building would have been three times as long and on rough terrain.

The deputies used a rope to wrangle the gator and dragged it past sofas and recliners in the store.

Pasco County deputies want to thank the furniture store for offering the path through their store to make their job safer.
