Dade City - Who needs a sleigh, when Santa can cruise around in a police car.
"Somebody said we were riding around in it, and they said they arrested Santa," said Santa.
The Dade City Police Department escorted Mr. and Mrs. Claus around town as part of their Operation Blue Christmas.
"It's a Godsend. Everybody's going through hard times right now. It's just a great thing what everybody does," said Rick Epley.
After Mrs. Claus straightened out Santa's beard, it was time for the kids to tear into those gifts.
9-year-old, Breanna now has all kinds new clothes, while her brother Matt got the Harry Potter DVD he's been wanting.
Sgt. Tim Harrelson came up with the idea for Operation Blue Christmas a few years ago.
"It became painfully obvious that there were a lot of people in the Dade City community that need help."
It allows those who give in Dade City to see their donations stay within the community.
"There are clothing, toys, food, shoes, a lot of shoes," said Harrelson.
In the past, they made mortgage payments and even paid electric bills.
Rebecca Epley cringed at thought of what Christmas would have been like without the generosity of others.
"Actually they wouldn't have had anything for Christmas and I'm just thankful that there is a blessing out there that they can have it."
