Counterfeiters arrested after 3 year investigation

After a multijursdictional, nearly three year long investigation, three people have been arrested in connection with creating and distributing counterfeit money.

Katrina Watkins, her boyfriend Artavis Dawkins and her son Christopher Houston were arrested for passing over $142,000 in fake bills.

The investigation began in 2015, and all of the cases involving counterfeit bank notes in the investigation involved the passing of $100 Counterfeit Federal Reserve Notes.

The $142,000 only includes the Middle District of Florida, including Pasco, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota Counties.

All three were arrested last week.
