73-year-old man arrested for child porn

Busted by the Cyber Crimes Unit

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - A 73-year-old New Port Richey man is under arrest after deputies caught him in the act of downloading child pornography on his home computer, according to the lead investigator.

Detective Anthony Bossone said Denton Lake Croft was in the process of exchanging child pornography when they gained entry to his home at 4427 Whitton Way Thursday morning.

"When we looked at the machine he was on, he was downloading child pornography. He was trading, meaning that people were downloading from him. And he also had videos up where he was viewing them," Bossone said.

He went on to say Croft's computer contained images of children ranging in age from infant to less than 13 years old.

Croft is charged with second-degree felony possession of child pornography and promoting sexual performance by a child.

"If you're in Pasco County and you're looking up child pornography, we're going to find you, we're going to come knock on your door, and we're going to arrest you," Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco said. "We're not going to tolerate this."

This is the second arrest of someone in possession of child pornography in the past two weeks in Pasco County. On August 13, a local CVS manager named Michael Dunlap, 34, was arrested by the Cyber Crimes Unit for downloading videos of children engaged in sexual conduct.

The Cyber Crimes Unit, a four member specially-trained team, was just created back in April to combat the growing problem of child pornography possession in the area.
