$25K reward offered by family of murdered doctor

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - The family of a Doctor who was found murdered in his Tarpon Springs home is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of his killer.

Police say Steven Schwartz died from upper body trauma and don’t believe the death was a random act.

Tarpon Springs Police officers found his body on the night of May 28 after Rebecca Schwartz, the doctor’s wife, came home to find her belongings “out of place.”

She backed out of the mansion and called police.

Officers used a canine team to search through the 5,800-square-foot waterfront mansion and found the body.

Police could not confirm that a burglary had taken place in the mansion or if it was a "set up."

Schwartz, 74, was a doctor at Main Street Medical Clinic in Dunedin.

According to a police statement, detectives are still evaluating leads and tips received by the agency.
