PALM HARBOR, Fla. - An 11-month-old boy was blue and had no pulse when his father pulled him from a swimming pool in Palm Harbor on Wednesday. The father began CPR and revived the boy, according to Fire Rescue.
The incident occurred shortly before noon at a home on Chatham Drive. The boy's father and grandfather were watching TV. The boy was in a walker. At some point, the family dog managed to push open a screen door.
The child followed the dog outside and onto the deck. He then fell into the pool along with the walker.
The father realized he couldn't hear the boy and went looking for him. He found the child at the bottom of the pool and jumped in. He then successfully performed CPR. It was not clear how long the boy had been in the water.
The child was responsive and crying where Fire Rescue personnel arrived.
The boy was taken to Mease Hospital. The father told ABC Action News his son will be fine.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office planned to follow up on the incident.
