LARGO, Fla. - Organizers of a "Stuff the Bus" event in Pinellas County are hoping for a larger turnout this year by holding the event at the Largo Mall on August 2.
The Pinellas Education Foundation and Franklin Templeton have partnered to hold the back-to-school supplies event outside the Target at the mall, but there is a Staples and Dollar Tree nearby, as well.
The Stuff the Bus event will get school supplies to the students of Pinellas County who cannot afford them.
The Supply Drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
A Pinellas County School Bus will be stationed in the parking lot of the mall at 10500 Ulmerton Rd., near the Target store, to collect the donated supplies.
Organizers request donations of the following school supplies:
• Backpacks in gender-neutral designs
• Pens and pencils
• Spiral-bound notebooks and composition books
• Loose-leaf notebook paper
• 1-inch binders
• Crayons and colored pencils
• Pocket folders
Companies who have pledged donations or are otherwise supporting the drive include:
• Med Express
• Franklin Templeton
• BIC Advertising & Promotional Products
• ClearChannel Outdoor
