A hoax 9-1-1 call about a shooting at the Hooters on Clearwater Beach landed one man in jail. Largo Police say 30-year-old Jonathan Lloyd made the call while he was 8 miles away at the Largo Mall.

"I would like to call about some psycho on Clearwater Beach that just shot up the Hooters." The man in the 9-1-1 recording says. "He is armed and dangerous. He is wearing a blue coat." The caller then hangs up.

Dispatchers attempt to call him back, but after a few rings, it goes to voicemail.

"911 dispatch was able to tell us that the call came from the Largo Mall area." Lt. Paul Amadeo, Largo Police, said.

Police were also able to connect the phone number to Lloyd.

According to arrest records, Lloyd has made "numerous calls to 911 for non-emergency services" in the past. We were only able to find one arrest for the offense.

Clearwater Police could not tell us if they responded to the Hooters after the call.

Hooters' employees told us they wouldn't have been able to tell if police responded or not. There has been a law enforcement conference at the hotel across the street. The restaurant has been full of law enforcement officers all week. And police cruisers have been parked all around the block as well.
