Largo woman held on $100K bond after allegedly splashing acid in victim's face

LARGO, Fla. - A Largo woman has been arrested after allegedly splashing acid into the face of a male victim.

According to Largo Police, Melissa D. Egbert has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after splashing the victim with muriatic acid around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Egbert fled the scene, but was later taken into custody. Largo Police said the incident is "domestic-related" and identified the location of the incident as only northwest Largo.

The victim has not been identified and sustained only minor injuries, police said.

Egbert is being held in the Pinellas County Jail on $100,000 bond.
