Good Samaritan saves man from drowning in overturned car

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - A man is recovering in the hospital Sunday after nearly drowning in a car crash Saturday evening.

Florida Highway Patrol say Richard Fenton, 52, was driving at a high rate of speed on Keystone Road  near Lora Lane when he lost control of his F-150 pickup.

The car spun off the road and flipped several times landing in a pond. Fenton was trapped inside the truck with part of the driver side underwater.

Passerby, Richard Glenn saw the wreck and stopped the help. He jumped into the pond and was able to keep Fenton's head above water until Fire Rescue crews arrived.

Fenton was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital with serious injuries.
