Suspect accused of stealing hundreds of lottery tickets busted after brother cashed them in at 7-11

DUNEDIN, Fla. - Police have arrested the man they say is responsible for stealing hundreds of lottery tickets, cash and synthetic drugs during a burglary and two separate robberies at the Munchees convenient store in Dunedin.

Trevor David Winsett, 24, was taken into custody Thursday evening after his brother inadvertently led officials to him.

Winsett first robbed the store on Jan. 17, but a break in the case came after he stole over a hundred lottery tickets during when he broke into the store during a smash and grab on Jan. 29.

He gave his brother scratch-off lottery tickets to repay a debt.

A  few hours later, the brother and his girlfriend cashed in some tickets at a 7-11 in Palm Harbor.

Then Winsett robbed the Munchee's store again on Feb 1.

However, fingerprints from his brother's cashed-in tickets were lifted off and led police to the brother.

 Through their investigation, detectives were able to link the suspect to the burglary, as well as the two other robberies.

Winsett was arrested Feb. 7 for one count burglary; two counts robbery and one-count dealing in stolen property. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
