CLEARWATER, Fla. - Clearwater fire crews are on scene of an early morning fatal plane crash that happened just after 4 a.m. Saturday.

The single engine plane went down in the middle of McMullen Booth Road north of Union Street killing the pilot and injuring two teenage girls on board the small plane.
The pilot, Jeffrey Bronken, his daughter, Katherine Bronken and her friend, Keyana Linbo departed from Chicago around 6:30 p.m Friday.
All three were taken to Saint Joseph's hospital in Tampa, one was transported as a trauma alert.
Debris from the crash caused small fires in the roadway which crews extinguished.
McMullen Booth Road is currently closed between Union Street and Enterprise Road.
According to FAA website the piper plane was registered to Glass Man Inc., a company out of Illinois.
FAA investigators on scene say the plane hit power lines as it crash landed.
National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is also on scene trying to determine what caused the fatal crash.
