Cat rescued from fire at C and E Thrift Store on Nebraska Avenue

TAMPA, Fla. - A cat is safe and sound after Hillsborough Fire Rescue saved it from an early morning fire.

Crews responded to a fire at C and E Thrift Store on Nebraska Avenue to find heavy smoke and flames shooting through the roof.

The fire was contained to that end of the strip mall the store sits in.

A cat was rescued from neighboring store, Dan's Sports. Firefighters gave the cat oxygen. It is expected to be okay.

No other injuries were reported in the fire.

The cause is under investigation at this time.

Nebraska Avenue is closed in both directions to traffic from 120th to 123rd Street.
