Storms over the weekend have caused major damage and flooding around the Bay Area.

A flood advisory was issued on Monday afternoon for Tampa expecting an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall in addition to the rain the city received over the weekend.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received reports of road flooding in Apollo Beach on Miller Mac Road, Firefly Lane, Golf and Sea Boulevard, Fairway Boulevard and Cacao Drive.

Several cars partially under water stalled out, cars even appear to have been abandoned.

Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue pulled four people from flooded vehicles on Golf and Sea Boulevard on Monday.

Motorists are advised to avoid potential drowning, turn around and to not drive on the flooded roadways. Any inoperable traffic signals should be treated as a four way stop.
