A Riverview man home on leave from a deployment in Afghanistan spent his Thanksgiving delivering meals to more than 100 homeless people.

Sam Najac tells ABC Action News this is his first Thanksgiving home in ten years -- he's been wanting to help homeless veterans in the area so he decided to make a hot meal for them on Thanksgiving.

Najac's family owns Premier Racing Services in Tampa and they decided to turn the car shop into a temporary kitchen to feed as many homeless veterans stopped by.

Najac served in the US Army and is now a contractor who lives in Afghanistan.

Najac, his father, his former football coach and other volunteers spent the morning setting up the food, but with the Thanksgiving storm, no veterans stopped by.

The veteran himself decided to load up the food in individual to go containers and drive around and deliver the meals to different people -- many of them veterans now living on the street.

Najac will be headed back to Afghanistan next week.
