I'm sure it's happened to you on a Bay area road, you're sitting in traffic and someone cuts you off at the last second to merge into your lane.

Well, deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office are cracking down on those impatient drivers.

Corporal Adam Whitted and his traffic enforcement team have set up off the Gibsonton Road on ramp to Interstate 75 during the morning commute to find those drivers.

Whitted and two other deputies didn't even have to get in their cars to pull over drivers crossing the double solid white line.

"Were just trying to get the worst violators," said Whitted. "The people that wait until the last minute to cut over."

The trio pulled over around two dozen people cutting other drivers off.

Part to blame could be all the new homes and people moving into Riverview area, but when people do the last minute maneuver it messes up traffic flow and leads to accidents.

"A lot of people have been saying thank you for doing this," he said.

Whitted adds they are trying to use this crack down as a way to educate drivers.
