Search continues for the suspect in a fatal hit and run crash on a Wimauma man's birthday

A family is pleading for justice for a Wimauma man killed in a hit-and-run crash on his birthday.
"There's no words to say about that," the victim's brother, Cruz Heredia, said. "It's hard. It's really hard."
It's been exactly one week since Heredia's brother, Juan, left his Wimauma home and never came back.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Heredia was lying on Maggie Drive, north of State Road 674, in the early morning hours when he was hit by an unknown vehicle and left for dead.
His family said he was in the process of walking home from an all-night celebration of his birthday. They never knew it would be his last.
"Maybe he would still be here if he would have stopped and got him some help," Heredia's sister, Guadalupe, said of the suspect.
Detectives have very few leads at this point. They're hoping, along with the family, that someone with information will come forward.
"I mean there has to be justice," Guadalupe said.
Anyone with information on the suspect, or information on someone with unexplained vehicle damage, is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200. You can also call Crime Stoppers, where you may be eligible for a cash reward, at 1-800-873-8477.
