TAMPA, Fla. - Hillsborough County deputies said a woman died Tuesday morning after the minivan she was driving rolled over in a single-vehicle crash.
It happened right just after 5:30 a.m. near an ABC Action News crew at the Falkenburg Rd. Jail to cover another story.
Desiree Cruz was traveling north around 50 MPH in a 1997 Dodge Caravan on Falkenburg Road near Windhorst Road, according to deputies.
For unknown reasons, she drove left, striking an 8-inch raised median, and lost control of the vehicle. It rolled onto its roof approximately 200 feet north of the intersection on the east shoulder of the road, after striking the Tax Collector's Office sign.
Cruz was pronounced deceased at the scene.
For a short time, northbound Falkenburg Road was shut down just north of Windhorst while deputies investigated.
