PLANT CITY, Fla. -
A man was killed Friday after he drove a pickup truck through a stop sign in Plant City, and hit a school bus broadside. The bus ended up on its side, and three students and the driver on the bus were unhurt.
Deputies say a Ford pickup, driven by James Allen Flint, 65, of Plant City, failed to stop at a stop sign on Sam Allen Road and struck the Hillsborough County School bus (1995 International) which was traveling south on Wilder Road, causing the bus to overturn.
Three Plant City High school students were on the bus. Two were taken South Florida Baptist Hospital with minor injuries, and later released to their parents.
The driver of the bus sustained minor injuries, was treated at the scene and released.
Blood was taken from the bus driver, but there is no indication she was under the influence of any alcohol or drugs.
