TAMPA - Tampa Bay Lightning player, Ryan Malone, was arrested early Saturday morning after Tampa police officers found cocaine on him.
According to police, officers spotted the car Malone was driving swerving on the roadway and hit a curb near South Rome Avenue and West Platt Street. When they pulled him over for suspected DUI they noticed he had been drinking.
Upon further investigation, officers found a bag of cocaine in Malone's back pocket. He was arrested and taken to Hillsborough County Jail.
Tampa Bay Lightning General Manager, Steve Yzerman issued the following statement, "We are aware of the situation concerning Ryan Malone this morning. Ryan will not travel with the team to Washington today but beyond that we can not comment further at this time."
