Man burned in meth lab explosion, expected to face charges

BRANDON - A Brandon man who suffered third degree burns from a fire Thursday night faces charges in what officials are calling a meth lab explosion.

Hillsborough County deputies responded to a 911 call about a fiery explosion at a barn behind a home 836 Center Avenue in Riverview.

When they arrived along with a fire crew, the man was found with critical burns and he was flown to Tampa General Hospital. Detectives especially trained to investigate labs searched the property and were able to determine a meth lab had been there.

The victim is expected to survive.
