Two men dead in apparent murder-suicide in Citrus County

Two men died Monday evening in an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Laramee, 52, fled from an Inverness home where deputies found Justin Harper, 22, dead from a gunshot wound, according to law enforcement.
Laramee drove away from the house at 1393 N. Reed Terrace, according to the agency. Deputies chased him in the area of Highway 44 near Croft Road and blew out his tires.
Despite the blown tires, Laramee continued to 2747 Venus St. Deputies found him dead in his vehicle from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Harper had been dating Laramee’s ex-girlfriend, with whom Laramee had a child, deputies said.
"Although the results are tragic, we are thankful that Laramee wasn't able to hurt anyone else due to the quick actions of our deputies," Undersheriff Buddy Grant said in a statement from the agency. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this senseless loss of life."
