Sheriff's Office says naked woman had gun when she was shot and killed

Off duty deputy and TPD officer involved

SPRING HILL, Fla. - Inga Marie Swanson hadn't lived in Land O'Lakes for at least a few years,  but she wasn't forgotten there.

"She was real easy to get along with, everybody that met her just loved her to death," said friend David Sewell.

Sewell had given her a place to stay and worked with Swanson off and on for 25 years.

"Everybody in Land O'Lakes knows her, hard to believe that's she gone," said Sewell.

Swanson dated also Teal Mull's brother in-law. Mull remembers Swanson as a good guitar player and a church going woman.

"We would like to know what happened and the deal," said Mull.

The Sheriff's Office announced Monday afternoon that Swanson had a gun when she showed up for a second time to party at a home on Orchard Way Saturday in Spring Hill.

It happened down the street from where she lived with her boyfriend.

Investigators say Swanson was naked and acting irrationally when she confronted an off-duty deputy from Hernando County and an off duty Tampa Police Officer.

One or both of them shot and killed her.

"I was devastated, I couldn't believe it, because she would never go out walking around naked doing something like that," said Mull.

The Sheriff's Office says they did recover Swanson's gun at the scene.

"I didn't think she liked guns. I could never see her owning one or anything like that, so where she would get a gun is beyond me,' said Mull.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is leading the investigation. There is no record of any prior arrests for Swanson in Florida.
