Hernando County deputies say Michael Mullady hit his wife with a turkey neck during an argument

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla - A 49-year-old Hernando County man is facing battery charges after deputies say he assaulted his wife with a piece of food.

Michael Mullady of 11297 Salters Street in Spring Hill was released on $1,000 bond and was told by a judge he cannot have contact with his wife.

According to an arrest report, Mullady got into a verbal argument with his wife Thursday.

Deputies say Mullady was upset he could not have possession of the couple's checkbook and began breaking things in their kitchen.

Mullady's wife began walking to the other side of the home when she reportedly was hit in the neck with a turkey neck that her husband threw at her, the arrest affidavit states.

Deputies say Mullady admitted to throwing the turkey neck at his wife, but apparently does not recall hitting his wife on the neck with the turkey neck.
