Reports and screen grabs from the Suncoast Standard show a hacked Citrus County Property Appraiser website hacked by “Iranian Hackers.”

The photos online by the Suncoast Standard show writing in Persian with the text below that reads “We Will Avenge.”

No group has come forward to claim responsibility for the hack. The only information is that the sites were “Hacked By Iranian Hackers.”

Citrus County Tax Appraiser, Les Cook CFA released this statement on Facebook:

"You may have seen that our Property Appraiser website has supposedly been hacked. The issue is being addressed and we hope to have our page back up very soon. We apologize for the inconvenience and if you have any questions or need assistance please contact our office at either 352-341-6600 or 352-564-7130. We are always happy to assist you."

Both of the sites were back up by 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

ABC Action News spoke with both offices Tuesday morning. They tell us Tyler Technologies was hacked, which is the national company that hosts their websites. They say no local servers were impacted and no personal data was compromised.
