A double fatal accident on Highway 491 in Citrus County has left beloved pets without a forever home

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla - A double fatal accident on Highway 491 in Citrus County has left beloved pets without a forever home.

According to Citrus County Sheriff's deputies,  a man and woman were riding their motorcycle on Hwy 491 about three weeks ago when a driver pulled out of Black Diamond and hit them. The woman was killed immediately and the man died about an hour later.

The woman owned a dog named Romeo and a cat named Agathon.  The woman's m other was caring for them and tried to find homes for them but was unable to do so. The mom called animal control last week and asked that they take custody of the animals.

Now, animal control officers are looking to find a home where both of the animals can live together once again as siblings.

The dog is a neutered male Australian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees.  He is about 6 years old, has silky cream colored coat and weighs approximately 80 lbs,.  He also loves loves to play Frisbee, is housebroken and is used to cats since he lived with one his whole life. His ID# is A20728651

The cat is spayed and declawed.   She is a domestic long hair tortoise shell. She is also about 6 years old, is a house cat and has lived with a dog her whole life. Her animal ID # is A20728696
